This seminar deals with second language acquisition (SLA) and tries to familiarise students with some principles of this research area through the analysis of practical situations. Students will be dealing with the psycholinguistic foundations of second language acquisition phenomena as well as their relevance for English foreign language teaching. Moreover, they will, by applying simple psycholinguistic methodology, pursue their own small-scale research projects and explore acquisitional phenomena in a data-driven fashion. Thereby, students will get the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and thus further develop the desired reflective practitioner attitude.
